Well this is going to get Republican activists buzzing. According to a press release from UCLA, Republican women are more attractive than Democratic ones.
Granted, the university didn’t put it precisely that way. Instead, it said, “Female politicians with stereotypically feminine facial features are more likely to be Republican than Democrat, and the correlation increases the more conservative the lawmaker’s voting record.”
The researchers, who looked at (heh) members of Congress, didn’t leave matters there. Instead, one of them suggested that Republicans like their women to be “stereotypically” attractive–but then see them as less competent than men.
Curiously,”the faces of male Republicans, on average, scored as less masculine than the faces of their Democratic counterparts.” So is the Republican Party the girly one?
And another question: Will Kate Upton join her uncle, Fred Upton (R-St. Joseph) in Congress once she hits 25? I don’t know anything about her politics, but if she does, odds are she would do so as a Republican.
